What’s the difference? There isn’t any! Most commonly referred to as Resistance training, the emphasis is on building muscle (hypertrophy) – the sequence of physiological events which take place are;
– the breaking down of the skeletal muscle tissue
– the restructure/repair and growth of the muscle
The muscle repair is carried out by satellite cells which fuse with the muscle tissue forming new muscle protein strands creating stronger and bigger muscles.
Resistance training, good nutrition and appropriate rest go hand in hand. Once the fat cells are depleted and the complex process of releasing the energy to the muscles takes place your body will look leaner and you will look toned which means you will have muscle definition.
Perseverance and Endurance – remember those words when you are working out – that’s the combination that will get you results.
